Drift Pram Bill of Materials

TRANSOM & BOW: Frame the inside of the bow and transom at the top with a frame sawn to shape from 3/4" lumber. Shape ends to suit the fillets in the corners. Glue and fasten through plywood to framing - 3/4" ring nails about 3" apart will suffice.

RUB RAILS: These include inner and outer members sized 5/8" x 1". Apply the inner rail first using glue and 3/4" nails through the plywood about 4"-6" apart; back the area accordingly when nailing. Apply the outer member after fiberglassing using 1-1/4" nails or 1-1/4" #8 screws similarly, well counterboard and plugged or filled. Pre-drill all holes undersize to prevent splitting.

KNEES: Install 3/4" thick wood bow and stern quarter knees at each corner along the top edges. Shapes can be taken from the patterns, but minor fitting adjustments and bevelling will be required. Glue and fasten with at least two 2" #10 screws per leg, well counterbored and plugged or filled.

MATERIALS: In addition to the plywood, a nominal amount of lumber for rails and knees, and some fastenings are required. The following supplies are required for the stitch-and-glue assembly portion (not including optional fiberglass hull covering).
