Re: Tahoe 23

Today I faired the transom. It may need some fine adjustment when I lay the deck battens. Waiting on screws so cannot continue with the deck clamps at the momment. While waiting I can start cleaning up the inside of the hull.

Re: Tahoe 23

Yesterday I finished fairing the sheer clamp so it is parallel to the deck beam. My personal choice of weapon to do the bulk of the fairing is a 4" angle grinder with a 120 grit sanding pad. Down side is it gets pretty dusty. I've tried electric and hand plane but the grinder works for me. Toda...

Re: Sydney Barrelback 20'

To raise the deck to allow for thicker cover boards, could you mount the deck battons on the deck beams rather than notched into the deck beams. That would give you 5/8 th of an inch if the battons are the same as the Tahoe.

Re: Tahoe 23

Alan, You do not know how true those words are, but again I guess you do! First day of working on the inside of the boat marking out deck battons and laying out a batton to check on fairing.Forgot pencil, clamps, square, file and as my mum would say "my head" because it wasn't screwed on. ...

The rail is probably a good idea. My wife says I lack "spatial awareness".

Re: Tahoe 23

May not be a stairway to heaven but should make getting in and out of the boat easier. Made this, this morning out of some left-over packing ply.

Thanks Alan and Pete. Two photos of the top of the transom and side planking. Both of which need trimming and fairing.

Re: Tahoe 23

Well today I start the rather tedious task of cleaning all of the epoxy glue dags on the inside of the hull. I tried to clean up as much as I could when L was gluing on the first layer of ply, but still a lot to clean up. Eventually after cleaning up the glue I will give the inside a final coat of e...

Re: Tahoe 23

Well the flip took place yesterday with 4 people and 2 one ton chain blocks. All went really well with no damage or anyone hurt, so you can not ask for anything better than that. Just a couple of photots.

Re: Spitfire

I have a video of it on my samsung tablet. Not sure how to link a video. My favourite is the Mosquito. An amazing plane. A bomber, fighter bomber, fighter, night fighter and high speed reconnaisance as well as torpedo bomber. Could carry the same bomb load as a B17 on a long distance raid and almost...
