Its my 1st time to the gathering and I was wanting to know what to bring. I don't know how this all works. I got Me, my Boat, my Girl, and Alcohol :D . no confusion, I use the manufacturer's suggestions also on the varnish and everything came out fine. It was when I put the last coat on using the flattening agent. Since it was so thick and jelly like I tried reducing it a little extra. Normally I reduce about 10 percent. But I did find out when usi...

had a very bad experience with my interlux perfection plus. Put a few coats on first and then I wanted to have a satin finish.so I use the flattening agent and it did not level at all. It was very jell like in the can. Never using the product, I didn't worry too much about it. I reduced it 30 percen...

I was hoping to do some varnishing with 2 part Interlux varnish. I was hoping to brush this product. Was wondering if anybody out there has had good luck doing this.

water based stain

I was wondering if I could get any tips on using water based stain. I am familiar with oil based but have never used water base before. Is there very much difference? I've always applied stain with a soaked up cloth or brushed it on and wiped it back off. Any tips would be appreciated

If I put a bulkhead in it might cut down on air circulation, Do you think one of those plastic battery boxes would contain a explosion ?

batteries in the bilge area

was planing on putting my batteries below my deck in the bilge area. all the boat I have had in the past they sat on the deck at the transom. they will be just forward of the engine and the compartment will be ventilated. JUST DONT WANT YO BLOW MYSELF UP :)

Thanks for all the help and input on the orange peel problem. 2nd coat came out reel nice. A little more reducer and i think the big thing was holding my gun closer. Now I'm ready for my finish coats. I'll post some pic's when I get er done.
