Ah I see. Yes, they certainly could make those helm units a little more streamlined.

Re: SEA KNIGHT

Is the bottom of that instrument box open? Even so with all the gauges and switches you might want to make it so that helm box is more easily removable. I could show you a pic of the underside of my dash. With just three gauges and 6 switches there is a pretty big nest of wires back there. Mostly fr...

Re: Importer build

If you can contact the manufacturer or a dealer that sells it they should be able to tell you what to use to bond it. I love the camper builds. If I had room I'd do a camper shell for my truck.

Re: Matt's Geronimo

With garage space at a premium, I was forced to paint a couple of sections of cockpit floor out on the picknick table in the backyard. But now that nighttime cometh everything needed to come into the garage. So I had to stack everything up to dry overnight. I got the hull ID# today. Should be possib...

Re: Stephens Zip

I think it's not too bad of an idea to get an extra sheet if you are having to get them shipped. I have seen cracked sheets (mainly on the Malahini in the aft section). It would suck to have to order just one sheet.

Re: First build: Nomad

Andrew, welcome to the forum! I don't know why the Nomad is not a more popular design. I suspect that if someone made a nice example of one for the modern day it could spur others to give it a shot. I think it looks great. However, there are not too many Glen-l designs that I just don't like. It app...

Re: Riviera build

A chalk line might be straight but it's too thick to be able to use as a gauge line. If you want to "joint" two pieces you need to plane them at the same time side by side. And then something as long as the motor stringers would be really difficult to joint with a plane. Plywood makes a gr...

Matt, if you don't mind going 6-8 knots letting the autopilot do most of the work while you sit back with a glass of tea.
