Re: Has everyone been happy stretching the extra 10%?

" Is the performance penalty worth worrying about? " there is no performance penalty. remember, it takes more power to push beam, than, length. length on the waterline adds to performance (if all other weights/volumes are equal) also, the stretch adds buoyancy. OH!, I stretched and I'm hap...

Re: Texas Barrelback 20

my prop shaft guy only wanted 1 dimension. he only wanted from transmission flange to back of strut, he did all the rest. I also let him mount the tranny coupling to the shaft, he mounted and faced off the flange for it to run true to the shaft.

Re: difference of Grounding and Bonding

I saw this and thought to post it. It is specifically aimed at marine industry, while I myself am in the aviation industry (avionics) and we deal a lot with grounding/bonding. https://www.proboat.com/2015/04/the-mysteries-of-bonding-systems-revealed/ Notice this article refers to bonding as <1ohm th...

We all know that any circuit needs a ground in order to work, the deal is that with a simple circuit like a electric motor or light bulb, what we percieve as 'grou...

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

the christmas tree symbol is in fact the ground. in a metal structure like a car body or airplane, this would be a ground post screwed or bolted to the metal frame, then all other devices could get their ground locally where they are installed. sometimes the mount screws themselves make the ground. ...

here is a youtube of the 'mud-hog' in action, this guy had just purchased a clone of the original National Detroit item. I ask you to watch the 'amount of material' is thrown off that thing, and watch him go around corners, and edges. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iC6cgdJYoFk I know, I used to be ...

Re: sanding tips from ACBS

I'm calling BS on that one......... the first picture was of a air driven fileboard, one of the most useless items to waste money on. Then I read ,,,start with a oribital sander with 100grit, then proceed to 60grit by hand, this is total BS. You should never , I say never, go towards the coarser gri...

So many of us are spread out across the fruited plains, shipping costs might be prohibitive. (how much to ship the canoe?) to Savannah Georgia?

Maybe Craigslist or Ebay is an option.?
