Re: Vroom vroom is gone

Athens is 4 hours from me, and she is northeast of that.
Pm me later in the week, as my weekend work schedule firms up.
Is it impounded by the police at this point?

Re: Building a La Paz 24

the vertical grain, or, quarter sawn are very close.
But, there is more than good looks that go along with that.
The vertical grain will saw straighter, stay straighter, work better, bends more consistent, won't bind the saw blade, etc., etc.
Besides all that, it looks good too.

That looks incredible. I wouldn't worry about the variability in the color of the planks. It's just the way wood is.
I'm onboard with that also.
it looks like you already got the wood grain to 'pop' and this is only a computer pic.
I would like to see that up close and at the Gathering.

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build

Neel, What genre of instrument panel are you looking to do? Old school guages, or modern? I ask because you already mention some electrical items, thrusters, hatches. If you go with modern instrument, it is possible to have a single LCD display that does engine guages and/or GPS like a touch screen ...

I would not rule out a spun hub.
Do you have another prop, be it correct pitch or not, to compare it to?

Re: CNC Conversion

Maybe I'm old-school, maybe I'm expecting immediate results, But I have to ask why do guys take a set of plans, and then, try to interject them onto CNC, CAD, or any numerous computer program??? My gosh, the time it takes you to input all the info, then twiddle with it, then fret about it, then cut ...

Re: Bolero Build

Well, one thing I have found out, is that you can get different amount of curves, depending on the type of wood you are bending around the chines & sheers. Example: the sheers up front have the most amount of curve in them, therefore, if you bend a solid piece of oak, vs a laminate of layers of maho...

Re: Bolero Build

Hi, glad to see someone build one of the 'go-fasts'. The majority of builds here are the small outboards & the tumblehome mahogany runabouts, yes the Bolero and other of the 'cigarette style' are not well represented. They have been built, but just not as many as the others, there are pictures in th...

Re: Converting an I/O motor to Inboard

you can read my post in the archive newsletter #56. I converted a 3.0L to a velvet drive, it uses most all the same chevy parts. you can do the same with the V6. your V6 will be easier than my 4cyl project, you can get all the motor mounts for that http://www.glen-l.com/weblettr/webletters-7/weblett...
