Stepping into a boat in the 20’ or so range smoothes out the ride and stays generally drier in many conditions than one under 16’

Re: Transom Edge

The inside of the chine (in the tunnel) needs to be sharpened as well as the transom. Outer chine slightly rounded about like a pencil diameter.

Re: 71c Velvet drive issues

A little tricky to get all the spacers and circlips in properly. Do you have the rebuilding manual? I think somewhere I have a pdf of it if you need one.

Re: fiberglass strips on exterior keel have air under them

Peter and Jimmy gives great advice above. I've used pretty thick tape on some of my fiberglass boat repairs and wetted the glass tape till it went clear before applying it to the hull.

Re: Transom saver with manual tilt outboard

Best scenario is to just leave the motor vertical. The transom is plenty strong. If you do need to tilt for ground clearance then do not latch it as it puts undue stress on the mounting bracket.

Re: Honduran Mahagony

Just for comparison purposes price wise to Genuine(honduran). African Sipo Sapele Spanish Cedar all good for your build from a reputable hardwood source
