Re: New Member Tobias Steinmann - Switzerland

Quicker build on the OB, but nicer ride with the inboard. Have no fear on the inboard fit out. Lots of them detailed on here.

Re: Sydney Barrelback 20'

Stephen nice work!
I like the bullnose design you are working on.
Not sure from the photos if you allowed for the final sheathing and planking passing the stem with the nose detail.

Re: Crash Pads

Jim,you do not need seams unless you are using real leather. I have some pictures on my build link http://home.metrocast.net/~bcheckerberry/billys_belle_isle/Photo_album/Pages/Seat_backs_%26_bases.html#3 if you want to see the process.

Re: New member from upstate New York

Stepping into a boat in the 20’ or so range smoothes out the ride and stays generally drier in many conditions than one under 16’

Re: Transom Edge

The inside of the chine (in the tunnel) needs to be sharpened as well as the transom. Outer chine slightly rounded about like a pencil diameter.

Re: 71c Velvet drive issues

A little tricky to get all the spacers and circlips in properly. Do you have the rebuilding manual? I think somewhere I have a pdf of it if you need one.

Re: fiberglass strips on exterior keel have air under them

Peter and Jimmy gives great advice above. I've used pretty thick tape on some of my fiberglass boat repairs and wetted the glass tape till it went clear before applying it to the hull.
