Re: Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

Maiden voyage w/new prop this am. The 9 1/4 x 11 new prop pitched to 13 worked very well. I didn't have any way to check my speed, but I'm quite sure it was more than the 30 mph I had with the 11" pitch. I can't imagine that my 9.9 wouldn't also handle the increased pitch. I was a little more excite...

Modification to Tiny Titan to reduce forward spray

I think I'm on track to finding a less wet ride... I tried to attach two videos I took this morning, but they may be too big. I get a notice that "The exension avi is not allowed." I added a '3/4" quarter round' piece of trim on the outside edge of the starboard sponson and the difference is beyond ...

Re: Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

Bill, I can understand the logic of all the WOT RPM testing if a person was planning to race, but I just use it for fun so I was thinking if someone else with a stock 15 hp Johnson/Evinrude had done all that testing and settled on a prop, then I should be happy with the same prop. Here's a close up ...

Re: Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

My patience ran out so I called Advantage Prop. Disc. Ctr and had them REPITCH a new prop to 13". Total cost was $159.94 w/freight and it arrived within about a week. (Paint still feels fresh).

Now I'll be impatient for the ice to leave the lake...

Re: Gathering 2012 Menu

Let me add my thanks to all those who showed up, worked, shared and were so welcoming! 'Hope you all made it home w/o problems. I had a great time and wonderful weather for the ride back to MI - never got above 75 degrees! I left the remaining MI pop with our friends with whom I stayed. CU All next ...

Re: Gathering 2012 Menu

Not wanting the wine to get all the attention... Here's some information about the 'pop' I'll be bringing from MI. Some call it soda, but pop may be more appropriate since 'pop' comes from the sound you hear when you remove the cap... Did you know that Vernors (made in MI) is "the oldest surviving g...

Re: Check In Check Out

I'll plan to arrive on Friday morning but may not need lodging. We have friends who live near there so I'll plan to spend the nights with them and head for home after breakfast Sunday morning - if I can get an invitation from them.

Re: Gathering 2012 Menu

'Just found out about this gathering, have my 'liberty card' to make the trip from MI on my Gold Wing pulling my Tiny Titan... I'm sure I'll learn more about the gathering as I read, but thought my contribution would be a couple cases of Vernors and Faygo to share (both made here in MI). How many ar...

Re: Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

BoatBoy88, Thanks for the link. That place is w/in 20 miles of where I live. I have a 2004 Evinrude and my current prop is 9X11. Evidently you had no 'fit' problems so it sound like I do not need to be concerned that it says "DESIGNED PRIMARILY FOR 1993 MODELS". I just found out about the September ...

Re: Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

iboats offer up to an 11" pitch, but that's what I have (on my 2004). I was wondering if others have found more pitch to work better. I seldom run full throttle, so I can live with what I have I suppose.

Tiny Titan w/15 hp prop recommendation

What prop do your recommend for my 15 hp Evinrude on my TT? I'm 180-190#.
What I have now is probably intended when the 15 is pushing a 14' alum boat w/2-3 people on board.
Thanks in advance,

MOPMan in Michigan w/Tiny Titan

Mom & dad took me to a hydroplane race when I was 13 yrs old (seems most were 8' w/10 hp). I've wanted one ever since. A couple years ago I bought a 'like new' Glen-L Tiny Titan from Bill out east. Thanks for Bill's craftsman skills, I'm a happy kid... I started with a 9.9 Johnson until last year wh...
