Re: Malahini in Missouri

This method is usable only where there is a fiberglass layer
already under the duct tape, otherwise you get a nasty black
line on the surface of the wood. I talk from exerience.

Re: Deck planking & seams discussions

Very good. The question for me though is choosing between white and black stripes. I´m inclined towards black seams but if you ask me why I probably could not even answer. I´m using rather dark mahogany for the deck so I´m a little afraid that the seams will disappear into the whole darkness of the ...

Re: Stem and frame 5.5

I used a threaded steel bar cut to desirable length to hold frame 5 1/2 to the stem for additional strength and for convinience while the epoxy set. You can see the cap nut in the middle of the frame. http://www.bhs.is/zzzip/misc/threaded_bar.gif <p> http://www.bhs.is/zzzip/keel_chine_web/keel1.JPG

Wish it was...
Reminds me of this from Rodney Dangerfield:

"I drink a lot, my father drank a lot, he once saw a sign:
Drink Canada Dry!
and he went up there"

Re: "cloudy" areas in the epoxy

Difficult to say...

I think it´s not a common knowledge that fiberglass
can´t be stored forever, usually it is fine for a couple of years.
Is it an old stock? Or has it been a subject to moisture?
Just my 2 cents...

Re: Zip Breasthook/Stem Height?

Hi, we are talking about sheet 4 of 4 in the plans. The height of the breasthook from the floor is a relative measure that depends on the height of the upright legs noted in the building form material list. Recomended heigt of the legs according to the plans are 26 1/2" thus the height from floor to...
