Re: Building Modified Importer

Awesome job!! Can I ask where you picked up your aluminum edge trim? Was it easy to make it fit around the radius of the forward portion of your camper?

Re: New guy building modified cascade

Any updates? Well life got in the way there for a bit but I am back at it. :D I have run a bunch of wiring, built and installed the ceiling panels and a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff. I plan to have the roof framed in this weekend and then I move on to foaming the outside and installing the ou...

Re: New guy building modified cascade

Amazing work and progress in such little time. I've only gotten as far as picking plans out since June. :( May I ask, how do you plan on moving this out of the garage when ready? Will these campers slide easily? Mark I have a set of corner jacks and will replace the feet with casters. I have 2 inch...

Re: cabover shell?

I would think it would OK as long as you don't make the cab over section to long. Also you need to make the side stringers (A and B in the stick drawing) full length to carry the load and more importantly spread the load. I guess its hard to say if the bed of the truck will be strong enough and I gu...

Re: New guy building modified cascade

Bored with woodwork so I played with the lighting a little bit. Wall light in overhead bedroom and LED light strip installed in the "sideboard"? LOL Also built the dinning table which can be mounted sideways to act as more counter space. I installed cup holders but still need to paint the ...

Re: Camper Jacks

A buddy of mine found a set of hydraulic jack at a garage sale yesterday. The older fella took them off and installed power jacks. My buddy picked them up for $80.  I'm pretty stoked right about now.

Re: New guy building modified cascade

I'm not much of a cabinet maker but these will do. 8) Tomorrow I need to build the large door for the one on the right.

Re: New guy building modified cascade

Weekend update... My wife painted the outside of the wings with oil based white rust-o-leum and I primed, textured and painted the inside walls. I also strung up wires in preparation to install the outside skins. The cabinet trim is still covered in white primer. It will eventually be dark...

Re: New guy building modified cascade

Well with a big percent of the interior woodwork done its time to fill sand, prime and sand some more. At least its not as bad as filling and sanding fiberglass. I never want to do that again. :( Anyway if I can get this priming done maybe I can blow on some texture this weekend. WOOT! http://mike.c...
