Re: Glen L15 transom strengthening for an outboard

Nice looking boat! The Glen-L 15 is designed for plywood construction and we recommend motors up to 7.5 hp. Since sailboats are displacement hulls, doubling the power won't result in much if any increase in speed. See our article about this: https://www.glen-l.com/weblettr/webletters-1/webletter2.ht...

Oh dear, this is so sad. Bruce was such a nice man and I'm so sorry to hear this--he was so young. Thank you for letting us know...

Re: Gayle Brantuk presentation

Wow! I knew Mike had made a video of my Power Point but I either forgot or didn't know it was online :D That was a fun night. I was a little nervous that my talk was online too--it's never pleasant to see or hear yourself on video! This American Legion is in Newport Beach, California and has a prime...

That reminds me that West System has been using Mark Bronkalla's Riviera in their ads, touting that it's been in use for over 17 years.

How Long Does a Plywood Boat Last Sitting in Salt Water?

I got this question today via email and thought I'd put it out here to get your feedback. I have my own experience with our Sissy Do that sat in the water for probably 15-20 years, but it was in fresh water. Obviously, fiberglass covering will increase the longevity but would love to hear your feedb...
