Michael,

The set up you have with the diamond spreaders would be the preferred method...

Re: Limited supply of classic boat hardware

Not sure, hoodman. There would have to be a lot of demand for them to do that.

Limited supply of classic boat hardware

I just added 3 new items to our site--a 14" "Ultra Streamlined" bow handle, a cleat and a transom vent. I was going through my dad's stuff here at the office and found the oldest Glenwood catalog I've seen. Glenwood Marine is a manufacturer of boat hardware and my dad and Elbert start...

Re: Hi Malcolm from Norfolk (UK)

Malcolm,

Welcome! It will vary--the Barrelback from deck to keel is about 3-1/2 feet (generous), not including the windshield. Seems like at least doubling that to include the trailer might be close. Anyone have an answer?

Re: Cruisette sedan?

mr.james--sorry for the delayed response. You can alter the cabins on many of our designs which I image most do--that's one of the many benefits of building your own boat. The only issue would be keeping the weight distribution similar to the original design to prevent any balance issues.

Welcome Swedger! Sorry for the delayed welcome, but keep us posted on what you decide to build. The Flats Flyer is an awesome design!

Re: Questions regarding laminating frames?

Dave,

We don't know of a formula for this. I don't follow your question about changing the width of the bottom frame of #2--we would keep the width as noted.

Re: Glen-L 15 shroud tang location for aluminum mast

Michael, The Glen-L 15 does have spreaders. We recommend that you set the mast up (with spreaders) and then tape the shrouds to the mast and adjust as needed. You can also adjust the chainplates and/or turnbuckles as well. We have a couple of links on installing hardware that may be overkill, but sh...

Re: Glen-L Party Boat

Thank you all for the feedback. It is similar to a Skeeter, Roberta! I added a Speed Chart to the page also. I think a rendering is nice, but not as good (imho) as a photo of an actual boat that someone has built. But, we do have a few designs that we don't have photos for, so that may be something ...

Glen-L Party Boat

I'm not sure if many of you have even paid attention to our design called the "Party Boat". I've always thought that my dad's drawings of the boats he designed are particularly pleasing to the eye. However, not so with the Party Boat--for some reason, this one was a dog. And, I'm a dog lov...

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build

Thanks for keeping us all updated on your build, Neel. There's much to be learned from this and I find it interesting to hear about the plans and how they compare to ours. Many request our plans in PDF but I don't think they realize the cost of printing is quite high. I look forward to keeping up wi...
