The passing of Ken Hankinson

It is with tremendous sadness that we share the news that Ken Hankinson, Naval Architect, has passed away April 25, 2018. Ken was a designer here at Glen-L for over 22 years and was a close friend of my father and our family. His memory will continue in the many beautiful boats he has designed and t...

Re: Glen-L Newsletter & Builder Galleries

We did have a wonderful time but mainly because we were with our grand daughter and her parents. I can't say that John and I will be headed back anytime soon. It's still a whole lot of waiting for a whole lot of money. But, for sure, it's fun to go at least once Bill...

Re: Mast head sheaves and halyards

The sheaves are inserted into the Masthead "C" casting next to each other with a piece of micarta or plastic between. Scroll down to the section on this part in our Spar Instructions: http://www.glen-l.com/designs/sailboat/spar-instructions.html

Limited supply of classic boat hardware

I just added 3 new items to our site--a 14" "Ultra Streamlined" bow handle, a cleat and a transom vent. I was going through my dad's stuff here at the office and found the oldest Glenwood catalog I've seen. Glenwood Marine is a manufacturer of boat hardware and my dad and Elbert start...

Re: Hi Malcolm from Norfolk (UK)

Re: Cruisette sedan?

mr.james--sorry for the delayed response. You can alter the cabins on many of our designs which I image most do--that's one of the many benefits of building your own boat. The only issue would be keeping the weight distribution similar to the original design to prevent any balance issues.
