Barra,

I downloaded the Draftsight.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks!
I used to use a cad program at work so I have some experience.

Re: New Member from Massachusetts (Bo-Jest)

Tom,

Very interesting. Thanks for posting the layout!
Guess I should have asked before. How much room is left in the aft open cockpit area?
What kind of people occupancy is comfortable for you?

Thanks,
Dennis

Re: Using CAD program for interior designs

Slug, A cardboard mockup is probably the best way to go. My main concern was I don't want to start a project and then find out the boat doesn't have the space, storage, amenity and people capacity I'm after. I like your card board scenario. That should give me a good feel for a finished product. Eve...

Using CAD program for interior designs

I was trying to search the web for some sort of free CAD program so I can layout the interior. I'd like to have a good idea of what I would end up with before I get going on a big project such as the Bo-Jest. Anyone have any experience using CAD to design their boat interior and where did you get a ...

Re: New Member from Massachusetts (Bo-Jest)

Mike, I'm interested in your Bo-Jest build! I checked out your blog and it looks like you're off to a great start. I've already purchased the Bo-Jest builder notes to review and hope to start sometime soon as well. Got to finish my Sabotina first though. I haven't been on the forum here in a while s...

Re: New guy in VA

Lol yeah she has asked already if me building this boat means that we will be selling our 2009 sun tracker party barge 21 , I told her no that's like our mini van and the zip will be the sports car ! She just turned and walked away because she knows the money that has been spent on that boat all re...

Re: Sabotina Build Setup

Got the frame work done and starting to add the plywood sides.
For this project I decided to use the 1/4" Sureply purchased from Lowes.

Re: Displacement Regrets

Tom - just sent a PM - thanks.

Sounds like the descision is in - I shouldn't have any regrets going with a displacement boat.
I was goofing around with "Paint" program and gave the Bojest a slight forward slant on the windows.

Re: "Must Have" tools?

What brand/model Japanese pull saw do you use Andy?
Where do you find yourself using it the most (as far as boat building goes)?

Re: Displacement Regrets

Just ordered study plans for the BoJest.

Tom,
Do you have a post w/pics somewhere here of your BoJest build? Would love to see some! Also, do your windows have a slight forward tilt? I kinda like the forward slant window look.

Re: Shop Size

Mrintense, Yes the garage height will be another issue after the flip. Not quite sure how I would finish a BoJest with the cabin and such since it wouldn't be able to fit height wise out the door. I will cross that issue later I guess. I was thinking for now, I could build the cabin somewhat seperat...

Re: Displacement Regrets

Yep! Already read the Boatdesign book. Very good read - I enjoyed it and learned alot yoo! Recently just got the book of boat design catalog as well. Thats where I started looking at the BoJest. The Sabotina plans came with it and I am currently building it hoping to gain some skills along the way. ...
