Re: AWWW the guys cook too!
Bill and Thomas and I had such a great time at the Gathering! Thomas loved the Tug boats! I loved the bread pudding (among other things) and simply MUST have the recipe from Lola - please!!!
I'd also love the recipe for the Alaskan salmon!
thanks,
Janet (Bill E's wife)

Re: Alternative Fuels
That's still better than production ethanol, which uses way more power to produce than the power you get from burning the ethanol! Seems like a corn farmer's (lobbyist's) boondoggle, from what I've heard.

What's this about a demonstration you're giving??? You're not bringing your boat this time right? (Not to hijack the thread....

Re: G4 Registration
... besides looking at boats and - hopefully - catching a few rides, what activities will there be that the kids could participate in? Watching the Skiiiiii Kiiiiiiiing waterski demonstration? I look forward to seeing you again. Say "Hi" to Hector for all of us "G1 Alumni". Seriously, along ...

Re: G4 Registration
Well, even though my hoped-for "reason" for coming this year hasn't panned out, it does look like Janet (wife) and I will make it up for a day-trip on Saturday, possibly bringing along the two kids (ages 4 & 7). I haven't followed the forum too closely in the past few weeks... besides looking at boa...

Re: Fun Boat Names
Down at St. Thomas in 2003, I took a sail & snorkel excursion. There we saw another sailboat named "Dollar Corn" ... it took us a while to figure out, but I'll go ahead and spoil it for you.
How much does dollar corn cost? A dollar? No, a buck an ear! (say it fast)

Re: Food for thought
This might not be the ONLY reason, but you're going to be even closer this year as we've moved it to Nickajack. It's all interstate from Hotlanta. Oh, I know! Having grown up in N. GA (Cartersville) with grandparents in W. TN (Bells) and then attending college in Nashville, I've crossed that lake a...

Re: Food for thought
Hey guys! Yes, the "real reason" I hope to have to come to G4 is a boat that I can at least put on a trailer. Even that is going to be a real push, but I'm hopeful. I have plenty of other reasons like those that John listed, but only one that has a lot of weight with the Admiral. Yes, Jeff, t...

Re: Food for thought
Well... for those who remember me (!), this is your first public notice that I'm hoping I have reason to make it to G4. I came to G1 with my friend Hector, the "crazy Cuban" and we cooked Saturday breakfast. IF I make it, you can count on me for a repeat. ...And having been raised Baptist, Dave's ri...

Well, let me chime in here... it's been a busy summer, with not so much work done on the boat. I finally got back into it last weekend for the first time since mid/late June. I successfully steam bent 1.5 frames out of 4 attempts, so now I have only 50-55 left to do. Still working on perfecting the ...

Most engineered wood like LVL (laminated veneer lumber, a version of Parallam) is neither intended nor fabricated for wet applications. At least with LVL material, I'd hesitate to count on it holding fasteners as well that are applied into its edge vs. the face. LVL is essentially long plywood witho...
