Re: Zip Floor

I had to plug up the hole in the bottom of one 'cause the water kept draining out into the bilge. I was thinking if I ever sold it to a cat herder, it would be all set.

Re: Zip Floor

My flooring was fully removable as were the seats. I used spreaders to support the seat bases and floor grids. a blocking ledge was attached to the aft of frame 4 to support the grids. Plywood ledges were made to support the seat bottoms and blind nuts were attached to the bottoms to allow the seat ...

Re: Zip Floor

Your feet will extend beyond frame 4. I didn't put flooring beyond that. Rather just placed removeable carpet on the bottom for my feet. I recommend putting the seat frames on sub floor planks athwart ship to keep seat height lower. Zips have very little free board and will make you feel a little hi...

Re: Chine notches on the Chinook

Notches need to be cut at an angle so the highest part of the chine is even with the frame. Then the frame is faired to the angle of the chine. Very little, if any, of the chine is faired away. Generally the chines are left pretty much alone except at the bow and to even the shape to coincide with t...

Do a test strip of scrap wood using your intended procedure. Leave a tail of glass cloth loose to pull on to determine adhesion.

Re: Woodworking bench

Welcome aboard!! Let us know what you are planning to build and post pics often. I built my workbench using six 4x4 posts for legs and 2x6s for the top framing. I put a 3/4" plywood top over that and lightly screwed 3/4" MFD on top of that as a smooth, sacrificial work surface. The frame was made fr...

Welcome aboard!! Get those plans and start building. Perfect time of the year to get going. Plenty of help and inspiration on the Glen L website (not to mention building materials and hardware) and forum.

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build

I had issues at times with the Raptor staples jamming. Mostly I think it was because I may not have been square in the surface and not holding the head down tight enough. Sometimes I think it just may be a harder spot in the wood. Mostly the stapler is a Godsend. I like to set them a little proud an...

Re: Stuck throttle on my Zip!

Could be several things, Andy. Check under the hood and make sure all the engine connections are OK and not out of order. I would disconnect the throttle cable from its lever on the motor and try operating the controller with it disconnected. If it works then try operating the lever on the motor to ...

Great selections of items for your boat. Gayle can help in your choice or get things that may not be in the catalog.
