Re: G-12 Tee Shirts Now Available

Depends on if Gayle ordered any extra. I see she had an order cut off date of August 6.

Re: Malahini Bow Rider porpoising

I agree. The loss of the weight of the bow, exacerbated by extra weight in the stern, and trim issues is a recipe for proposing. Newer motors tend to be heavier than motors used when this boat was designed. Like suggested, try to rebalance and correct trimming issues. Keeping the bow down will reduc...

Re: Tahoe 23 Prop Shaft Diameter?

You probably would be OK with the 90-140 (16 deg) strut and the 90-195 shaft log. Both of those have very big mounting surfaces and are very strong. The strut is the same as mine except the drop is a 3/4" less. You would still be OK with a 12 or 13 inch prop. I think these are readily available...

Re: Tahoe 23 Prop Shaft Diameter?

Looking back through my invoices I needed to make some edits to sizes and part numbers. The above is now correct. Again, Gayle was able to provide all the necessary stuff I needed. Check with her first as she has first hand knowledge of the proper gear for the boats and what is safely substituted. R...

Re: Tahoe 23 Prop Shaft Diameter?

The strut and shaft log are mounted on the keel and the angles of each need to be close. The rubber hose allows some leeway, like Ken mentioned, so the log should be within 2 deg. of the strut. The keel is generally about 2 deg. different that the motor stringers due to the slope from about frame 4 ...

Don't have a line on anything at this time, but will keep your quest in my thoughts. I share the building bug, too.

Re: modified malahini

The cavitation plate on the motor should be about even with the bottom of the keel.

Re: modified malahini

I used the Yacht primer and WR-LPU on my Zip. Personally I would not sand it beyond 220. Sanding before top coat isn't required. The WR-LPU likes a little roughness to bite into. Sanding can be done as soon as it is cured in 24 hrs, if you want to. Make sure you paint the WR-LPU in cooler temps with...

Re: Intake Strainers

You are correct on the filter. That is the whole assembly and replacement cartridges are available. You are also correct on the fuel hose. That has been changed to A1 and A2 CG approved hose. I thought maybe someone might bring that up when I posted the picture. But also remember that this is ...

Re: Intake Strainers

Thank you! The black item is the fuel control cell and pump assembly. I think it is a GM part. It comes with the engine. The primary water separating filter is in line between that and the tank mounted on the stringer. Then engine and transmission ran about 17K and is all new and not rebuilt. It is ...
