Carl; If those are the 32mm European type of cabinet hinges you're using I strongly suggest you do a mock up before you drill any holes. Appears to me they are not mounted correctly. I've used these for years in my cabinetmaking business.

Re: Why Build Boats
I remember sitting inside my completed bare hull on my steel Kaiulani 34 foot sailboat. It was an awe inspiring moment, as if I was inside a giant whale. I'll never forget that moment.

Re: Neel's Palm Beach 22 build
Thanks for posting Neel. Will definitely be a classic show winner. I'm assuming epoxies will be the new casien (sp?) glue? BTW; I added a 3/16 x 5" epoxy shim to the rear edge of the Gentry and got rid of the porpoising but also cut down on the top end a little. Maybe a little too much shim? Doug

Re: Flats Flyer Build in Orlando
Just my input here; Both times I built my own garage/workshop, I clad two trusses both sides with 1/2 " plywood. This allowed me to fasten steel plates to them with eyes protruding through the ceiling. (I always built my own trusses!) Pick your locations carefully for this and you will use the ...

Deno; I use automotive finishing tapes, usually 3M. The 8" discs are Norton, again available from good automotive paint suppliers.

Denon; I have great luck with a CP 8" random orbital air sander. It seems to smooth everything out nicely. Problem is it uses a lot of air.
