Mahogany bundles

Dave, for what it is worth, I ordered a 300 bd ft. bundle of African Mahogany from the guy in Tennessee off eBay. It came in random lengths from 6' to 12' and some great widths. I had a couple boards that were almost 16" wide! The wood was nicely dried and anywhere from 1 1/2" to almost 2" thick. So...

I quit worrying about it and picked up some DF last night. I think that will be the best option.

Thanks for the help.

You know, I hadn't thought of mixing the two woods and doing mahogany and fir together. That would look cool. I like the idea of going all mahogany too. I appreciate the feedback.

Stringer Material

Hello everyone - I am about a month into my Riveria build and need some advice. I have all of my frames complete and started to work on the building form and stringers. I just can't decide what wood to use for the stringers. I have enough Mahogany to use or I could laminate some 3/4" Doug fir. I did...

I made that mistake a couple years ago when I built a 16' duck boat (not a Glen-L design). It had a false floor and I did not coat the inside floor with epoxy, just epoxy based pai...

Finally getting started!

I purchased the plans back in December 07 and have been lurking around this forum since then soaking up everything I could about building these great boats. As a new builder, the pics and comments you guys put out there really hel...

Either one of those may do. Thanks! I did have a question about building the Riveria or any of the boats in general. I plan on using white oak for my frames and have seen where thee might be problems with epoxy? Are there any precautions I need take? Speaking of epoxy, I have built a boat previously...

Another new guy

Hello everyone, I am yet another person dreaming of building and working on these gorgeous boats. I just received the plans for the Riveria and I am totally smitten. I have gone through the posts on this forum and can't wait to get started. Looking through the pictures, of course, has been the most ...
