Re: Using micro baloons in Epoxy for last lamination.

So there IS a risk with using the white silica filler. Thanks so very much guys. I was worried about the sanding dust clumping up in the epoxy. I think I'll get some of the system three pigment.

Using micro baloons in Epoxy for last lamination.

Gentlemen: I have read most of the posts and answers in the Epoxy section and didn't find an answer to my question. I am about to start laminating my Riviera with the Mahogany planks and this is the layer that will show as wood on the sides of the boat. If I use the Silica filler to mix in the Poxy ...

Mahogany Planking over Cold Molded veniers of plywood.

I have read for hours and days trying to find anything about how to apply the poxy shield to the mahogany planks and glue them to the surface of the laminated plywood hull. I am building the Riviera. Poxy Shield is very runny and has no thickness to it in order to fill the voids between the mahogany...

Hello Gentlemen: I read your string and appreciate the understanding and encouragement in building our big boats. I am building the 21ft Rivera and am ready to layer the Mahogany strips onto the layers of cold molded 1/8" plywood. Where do I start and what is the process? I have researched this onli...

Re: New member in Calgary - Mast step

Hi Ian, I am also a new member down here in Montana and it was suggested to me that I post my question by using your topic in question, instead of "new member". It worked for me. Just change your topic in a new window and paste your question into the body and post.
Good Luck.

Planking the Riviera or any other Mahogany Runabout

I am building the Riviera here in Northwest Montana and have been working on it for several years. I am finishing up on the resawing and ripping of the Mahogany and would like a reference or site to visit on how to start the planking and it's lay out. The instructions for the Riviera are only basic ...

Bruce, Darned if you aren't right on that one. I thought I had seen that somewhere before, but it has been years since I looked at the online plans. Couldn't find it anywhere on the blueprints or the instructions. Thanks for your help. This gives me a good place to start. Anyone who has a riviera, p...

Riviera Weight

:?: I am working on planning the trailer to hold my Riviera and am considering using a tortion axel suspension instead of the typical springs and shackles in the trailer plans. What I need to know is the approximate weight range of the Riviera. I don't see it on any of the boat plans or instructions...

Gavanized Brad Nails for cold moulding plywood and planking

Hello everyone. I am brand new to the forum and am currently about to set my frames on the gig to begin construction of the Riviera. I have read a lot of the fastener posts and replies, which are a wealth of knowledge. I like to think ahead, so I am wondering about using my 18 guage brad nailer with...
