Re: water supply to shaftlog

Fair enough. The shaft log in question had a "SEAL-TYPE" stuffing box. I contacted Glen-L and asked if I needed to supply water circulation to the stuffing box. The answere was "NO" because the seal type box has a 'greasing nipple', and a good marine type grease will do the job. I was warned not to ...

Re: 19 ft Barrelback. After i drilled the shaft hole and lined it with fiberglass pipe, my mechanic installed the shaft log (Glen-L) and aligned the shaft. He used bushings in the shaft hole. Initially he said the shaft log needs water circulation, but later on he changed his mind and said it needs ...

A related question

Where the bottom paint meets the side paint.... How do you deal with that ?
I would assume the side paint overlaps the bottom paint.... But how will the side paint adhere to Teflon/Epoxy ?
Thanks

Dave

Need engine

Soon I will be needing a NEW engine and transmission for my barrelback 19 . I have no clue about marine engines. Must have fresh water cooled. I will have it installed professionally. I don't need to race. I would like to spend about $5-6000 for the engine and transmission.
