Re: In hull Transducers

I tried them all over the years and finally have a bronze thru-hull that works great. I have no concerns about it’s watertight integrity.

Read about my project "The Epiphany" in the power boat thread. Might work for you.

Re: Exhaust Tube Question

I used SS elbows and wrapped them with heat wrap from my local hot rod store. They work fine. Also note that corrugated exhaust hose is quieter due to its ability to absorb exhaust pulses and the ribs act as mini baffles. The effect is to dampen the higher frequencies and reduce the annoying "bark".

Re: Who's Going and Where

We hate it but we're not able to make the Gathering this year. Scheduling conflicts just can't be resolved. Rest assured we are with you in spirit and wish all a great time.

Re: Part out a ski boat

As far as disposing of the hull, I took a sawzall to it and in 10 minutes reduced it to manageable pieces that were accepted at the local recycling facility

Re: Part out a ski boat

I recommend it. You will have not only the big parts but all the little jimcracks that cost like crazy if you buy them separately. Not to mention a trailer! Also, you have a full size example of "how it's made" as a guide.
When you're all through you can sell the carcass or junk it.

Re: Side planking questions

I suppose you could cut some shallow longitudinal kerfs in inside of the 3/8" and fill them with epoxy.
Just thinking....

Re: Rocky Mountain Monte Carlo

Does that pylon attach with more than the screws thru the flange?
The torque on a ski pylon is enormous. Mine is attached to an aluminum tube structure attached to the stringers. It doubles as a lifting point for the boat.
I'd definitely recommend "overengineering" the mounting of a ski pylon.

Put the wife at the helm of the houseboat, station the kids and pets at the bow and climb in the Riviera for a few precious quiet moments.

Re: GERONIMO -whoops

Are you referring to the "scratch" between the tach and speedo hole? Looks like it would probably sand out.
I'd put a steaming hot towel on it to swell it up then sand after it drys. Or cover it with a bezel of some sort.
