Re: Trip Preparation

Bill AU is 240v 60hz (think NZ is the same but not 100% sure) I don't want to be petty and correct everyone. However I can use my electrical engineering knowledge here. We are 230 to 240V and 50Hz in Both Aus and NZ. Officially we changed to 230V to align with europe about 10 years ago. however 240...

Re: New from Au

Thanks Ozzieboat, Maybe when I eventually get started I will come and have a look. The decision is made. I didnt really need to flip a coin as I would be very happy in either boat. Bill, No need to apologise for talking slow. It was comprehensive, full of details and gave a realistic description of ...

Re: New from Au

Thanks Jeffh, Never again will I attempt to duct tape a hull. Wire or zip ties all the way. However for what it is, I am extreamly happy with the canoe and it will be a lot of fun. even with its flaws. Jenko, Aussie, likewise it was Daves Midnight that convinced me to choose the Riviera, along with ...

Re: New from Au

I wanted to start the tubby tub by now but I am still working on my other projects. The Canoe is nearly finished, and the hull of my dinghy needs one more coat and then flip to paint the deck and refit the hardware. Also I have ordered the Riviera plans so I can start planning for that too. :D 2013-...

Re: New from Au

Hi Peter, Not sure of the motor exactly but it was a mercruiser sterndrive. You can see the little "bubble" on the swim platform to make room for the propeller when the leg is lifted. I guess it also makes a handy step too. The boat is a production boat from the gold coast made by pegiva. go to pegi...

Re: New from Au

I wanted to follow up. My Tubby Tug plans have arrived and I am getting ready to start soon. (I will make a thread in the proper forum when I actually start). While waiting for paint or epoxy to dry on my sail boat I decided to make a S&G canoe using some free plans. I am happy with the way it has c...

Re: New from Au

Thanks for the replies, While it seems there is lots of epoxy, overall it does not sound too bad. 30L of epoxy is an investment but its not too bad really. I've found bulk laminating epoxy resin seems to offer good value but I am still looking further into it. I have some west though to use on the t...

New from Au

Hi, My name is Robin. I'm from the Gold Coast in Australia. It is getting rather silly that my favourite thing to do is mess around on boats and I have not been doing it for a long time now. I am currently messing around with fibreglass restoring a sailing dinghy I've had for the last 24 years since...
