Well a got the building guide for the zip and there's a little map in it were they discribe how the transom can be reinforced for an engine up to 85 HP.

Is it possible to put a 70 HP outboard engine on a zip if you reinforce the transom ????

I have one more question a friend of mine used thick plywood for the frames, isn't this a option ??

Mahongany or oak frames zip ?????

Hello everybody,

I'm starting to build a Glen L zip, but in the materials list almost al the frame parts are made from mahogany.
This type of lumber is very hard to find here not to mention the price when i find it, can a replace the mahogany for oak ???
