Re: The time has come...

I would touch up your boat with the paint and then move on to building another one. Your Zip looks finished to me. Every once in a while I think about putting those nice Mahogany cover boards on mine, but then think, well how long is that going to take and cost ? Stripping the top surface of everyth...

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

You are 6`2" ?

The zip might be a little tight for you depending on how you build it.

It`s not the easiest boat to get in and out of And I`m 5`10" 190lbs

Malahini would have been my choice had I the room at the time.

Re: Finishing Zip Hull

Sounds like a good plan.

I would use fairing compound to fill the holes and fair the bottom though. It`s easy to apply and sand.
After that you can start with the glass. I would put the glass down dry and then epoxy it.

Have fun. Looks good

Re: Cabrons Zip Build

Hi Carl, Of course you will be more than pleased with a new motor. If it`s in the budget...go for it. After all the work you are putting into the boat build, It only makes sence to put a new motor on it. I`m sure you want to get the most performance out of it as do I with my ZIP. Make sure you get t...

Re: Cabrons Zip Build

Took the ZIP out a couple of days ago with its new 25 Mercury 4 stroke. Still braking in the motor...but WoW !! what a machine. Starts up with a quick turn of the key. Super quiet and flawless with the power trim. Cost me 5 grand. On the payment plan for 100 a month Goodbye noisy 2 stroke. You were ...

Re: Michigan Squirt Build

That is a very neat wiring job you`ve done. It makes me re-think mine. I did all my wiring after I had put all the top surfaces down. That was a mistake. My wiring is a mess. No one would understand it in the slightest. Dang it`s going to be difficult to redo. It`s extremely difficult getting into t...
