Re: Making progress on my Monaco.
Skip, you're boat is looking fantastic. I'm still amazed every time I see how clean your shop is... With all the sanding you say you do, I swear you must have a saw dust eating gremlin around that cleans non stop.... Sorta like one of those pool sharks that just does it's thing when no one is lookin...

Re: Seattle Barrelback progress
Wow Robert, Great Job!!! I've been absent from the forums lately as my wife and I sold our house in Port Orchard and moved over to West Seattle now. I just started catching up on everything I missed and apparently it was a lot. I would have loved to have been there for the flip. :) I'm really happy ...

Re: Roberta's Torpedo
I know many have said it and I'll say it again, WOW!!!!!.... I've been gone for several months while moving and preparing for our first child and have had to put the dream of building a boat on hold for a bit. But, at least once a week, I tell my wife that I really want to build a boat. And there is...

Hey Bill (and everyone else) I know it's been a while since I've been on the forums, but I've had a number of major life changes going on that have taken precedence. My wife and I are expecting our first child in August, and with that came the realization that we can't afford to live how we want whe...

Re: SEA KNIGHT
Man you're moving right along, I better get a move on and get up there to see it before you finish. :) Glad to see things are going well. My grandfather always used to say that my grandmother used to think he did better work for everyone else than he did for them because with all the work for them, ...

Re: WA. Sea Knight project
Hey Craig,
Your boat looks like its coming along great. I would love to come see it in person sometime and maybe lend a helping hand. I just recently moved to western Washington and if you're in the area and want some help feel free to pm me or let me know.
Regards,
Sean

Re: Catalina Express Drive Options - Arneson Surface Drive?
After doing some additional research, I've learned that there are a couple other manufacturers for a surface drive application. http://www.msa-marine-systems.com/home_151_E_.html has a couple different offerings. I'll see if I can get some setup prices from both of them tomorrow. It looks as though ...

Catalina Express Drive Options - Arneson Surface Drive?
So I'm looking to build a Catalina Express and was looking into drive options which according to the plans are a stern mounted inboard with either an Outdrive or with a V-Drive. After reading what I could find on those two options, I was just about to concede that for my purposes, sacrificing the sp...

Re: Atlantic Skiff build
This is a beautiful boat coming along nicely. You don't see many boats on here being done with a skeg and it looks awesome.
I hope that you are still progressing and would love to see some updated pictures.

Sean

Re: Building The Vera Cruise
Ahh Cool, Thanks Carl. And yeah, I know that my ducks will never all be in a row. But my wife is already on board with the sump pump idea due to standing water, so that will come out of house funds as opposed to my fun/boat money. I plan on asking for the boat plans for Christmas as there's a good d...

Your boat looks Fantastic!!!
I have friends down in Hamilton and spent my honeymoon touring around the north Island. I absolutely LOVE New Zealand and can't wait to get back and visit the south island as well.

Sean

Re: Building The Vera Cruise
Carl, I am curious as to what type of artist your wife is. Having an artist (Fine Art Photographer) for a wife myself, I find I tend to lean heavily on her in regards to aesthetic design, color choices, and finishing help. She tends to get involved in many of my projects at the very end when all of ...

Re: Can I water ski? Catalina Express -Full length deep vee
Thanks, Those were definitely a couple of concerns that I was not entirely thinking of. My experience with boating is limited to small(ish) ski boats or fishing boats and sail boats. Obviously, skiing is not the primary or even secondary purpose of this boat, but the knowledge that I should be able ...

Re: Can I water ski? Catalina Express -Full length deep vee
Thanks Carl, I agree with you, and as I stated, I'm not planning on this being a water skiing boat, and who knows, maybe that's what I'll build next, but in the mean time, I was just wondering if there was some hidden reason why it wouldn't work or shouldn't be used. According to the speed chart, if...

Can I water ski? Catalina Express -Full length deep vee hull
Hello Everyone, I'm still in the planning stages of which boat I want to build and as someone who has very little experience with boating, I am curious as to the restrictions / limitations of different types of boats / hulls. I'm looking at the Catalina Express which is a 27' Full length deep vee hu...
