Re: Thinking about my next boat build.. a river cruiser?

Mike 283, I have often thought about the Waterlodge especially after reading through "A Secret history of American River People". But I find that I want something more "boat" than "Shanty" if you know what I mean. Gayle, I am surprised that I haven't seen more evidence of the Play'N Jane being built...

Re: Thinking about my next boat build.. a river cruiser?

Chug, no it's not a Titan. And I do like the looks of the coaster. My sketch shows an extended cabin where the plan I copied from only has an open wheel house. It doesn't appear too many people have built this model but plenty have built it's bigger brother. And it only needs to 10 hp to cruise 6.5 ...

Re: Thinking about my next boat build.. a river cruiser?

Matt, Not offended at all. I would bring a little insurance in the form of a small quiet generator as you suggest along on any trip taking more than 1 charge of the batteries. you never know how much sun or what electric you will find to plug into along the way. As far as size goes I am thinking abo...

Thinking about my next boat build.. a river cruiser?

I know I still have work to finish on the Amp Eater, (primarily the solar panels) but I can't stop myself from thinking about the boat I might build next... I want to build something that my wife and I can live on for a few days at a time while cruising on a river. Not too big but large enough to ha...

Re: Hydrostatic paddle wheel boat

I agree with footer. This project cries out for an electric drive. Quiet as can be except for the splash splash splash of the paddle wheel. I look forward to seeing some pictures of this project.

Re: Gathering update

A big thanks go out to Matt and Heather B. (Hercdrvr) for the wanderful Taco Buffet they prepared for all. It was awesome. We had a lot of fun Saturday night with good food, good drink but most importantly good friends. Thanks to Kieth for the karioke and kudos to all those who were brave enough to ...

Re: Gathering update

Gayle, The black minuet was built by Joel and Kathy from Corpus Christi Texas. The blue Minuet was built by a couple out of Gatlinburg Tennessee, Ron and Claire I think. This was only the third time they had put it in the water but I could tell they were veteran sailors.Too bad there was not much wi...

Re: NAME TAG CUTOFF - PLEASE PROOF

Ray, We moved this summer and I cannot find our old name tags. If you could make new ones for us that would be great.
Thank you.

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

Labor Day at Hoover Reservoir - Columbus Ohio We enjoyed a day of family boating aboard the Aquatron. The three oldest grandsons each got a turn at the helm. Their favorite course was to make a 270 degree turn and cross our own wake. I have a feeling they would appreciate the "Wild Thing" design. 20...

Re: Who's Going and Where

Melissa and I plan to be there and bring our AmpEater. I have not reserved a cabin as we may be staying with relatives close by. Would like to hitch a ride with someone on Friday's river run.
