Yes, The Waterlodge would be much easier and probably quicker to build. Has any one ever built one? I cant' find any pictures.

Re: Chugalug's BoJest

Chug,

It's looking good. Watching your progress has kept the Bo-jest near the top of the list of my next boat to build.
Getting your HIN# means the splash date is close at hand!

Yeah! Hard not to make motor noises as you picture yourself behind the helm.
Lots of excitement as it is coming together
Looking forward to seeing you on the trip to Chattanooga on Friday!

Re: Thinking ahead a few years...

I have been thinking ahead along similar lines for my next boat. I have been thinking about a Bo-jest (stretched 10%) or possibly a Hercules. Both have semi-displacement hulls that require fairly low power requirements for cruising speed. I do expect that rebuilt battery packs from electric vehicles...

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

We took the Aquatron out for one last cruise before cold weather sets in. It was a beautiful day in the mid 70's here in Columbus, Ohio. We had a family picnic and multiple boat rides. We put about 10 more miles on the Amp Eater. The leaves are just beginning to change on the trees and made for a sc...

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

We made it to the G-11 with deck and hardware installed. Hales Bar 2017.jpg While we were there my sister in law Melanie of Mel's Marine Upholstery finished my custom boat cover. Aquatron Cover.JPG We cruised around for over 30 miles this past weekend on about 4 kw of electricity. We averaged about ...

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

Carl, Yes, it is encouraging when the progress is highly visible. I wish my progress could be a some what quicker. It has been almost 2 years since I ordered the plans. I thought I would have it built in 6 or 7 months. Matt -- don't fret about not seeing it completed at this years gathering. Even th...

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

I began cutting the 3/8" marine plywood for the deck. It will be cut in 4 pieces and the plans show how to get them all out of one piece so here goes. 20170906_192519.jpg 20170906_192437.jpg We got a good start on the deck this evening. I hope to fi...

Re: Solar powered Amp Eater

This will probably be the last time out before the gathering. We got the boat back home with plenty of daylight to spare so I got to work. I have a lot to do before the gathering in 2 weeks. I put my newly sharpened plane to work and faired the carlings and sheer to be ready to install the deck. Aft...
