Re: Another Tow Rig and Misc Photos from recent trip

I have seen 4 x 300hp outboards on some. But thats when I have to ask,,,,,,,why???? At that point you can go to big block Chevy or similar for far more power in a sterndrive or inboard. (we know that in todays market inboard aint happening) I try to get to the Lake of the Ozark at least one a year ...

Re: I'm a Boat Builder! G-L Ski Tow under construction!

Mark, I'm bummed out that the Tee-nuts didn't work as I believe I was one who suggested them. Since I'm not even building yet, I almost feel like I'm using you and the others to test my wild ideas for me! I hope your new method works out for you. If you are struggling with the nuts spinning, ...

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

Carl, A common setup that "cuddy cabin" boats use is a filler cushion that fills in the area between the benches to create a full bed. The filler is basically a piece of wood and a separate cushion. The wood part doubles as a table in the cabin and you could use it as your re-movable table...

You are right about the beautiful country up there.
I've said it before, but it is great to see you getting to use the boat!

Re: Building The Vera Cruise

I'm including a crudely sketched drawing on one of my previous photos. It shows some fore and aft support ideas I am considering. Along the top edge would be a batten to attach the sole to. The center box supports in the photo would not be there in the final design. My concern is boxing myself (lit...

Re: Rust proofing after cutting threads

At my last job in a sheet-metal shop, we used to weld galvanized sheet metal often. Some of the customers required us to spray ZRC Zinc on the welded areas that we ground or burned off the galvanizing in the weld process. I don't know how it performed over time, but we charged them extra for it and ...

Re: Highschool Riviera Build Project

Wow! I haven't seen that Tahoe before! Its gorgeous! I figured you'd want to see that one! Like I said, it's got me thinking of painting the sides if and when i get to that point. Also take a look at the Vintage Race Boat Shop web site and look for a boat named "Obsession" for another bea...

Check out this Tahoe. Although I am a long way from having to decide, this one has me thinking about paint!

Re: Sunnyland Boat Show

Roberta,
Great pictures from what looks like a great show.
As I mentioned in another post of yours, it is great to see someone getting to use their boat!

I'd add this show to my list, but I figure I better start building a boat first!

Re: I'm a Boat Builder! G-L Ski Tow under construction!

Could you drill a hole thru those frames and get a tee-nut on the bottom side? https://www.mcmaster.com/#tee-nuts/=16ivjcr They would only work on the parts that you could get to the underside of the frame, but it looks like you have the needed accesss based on your pictures. I don't know if they co...

If you are looking for gas springs and mounts and need ideas, check out McMaster-Carr.
They have great descriptions and dimensions of all their products, so they work great to generate ideas and to see what's out there.

Roberta, Before spending money on a "big bag of props" you might want try BBlades Prop Shop. They have a great national reputation working on props for outdrives. Anything from a 19ft runabout up to $15K props for the offshore guys. They also have a prop test program. The best part is they...

Looks Great! :D
I love the look of the darker sides.

As I said in your earlier posts, I'm glad to see that your modifications are working out. I can't wait to see pictures of you ripping across the lakes. Let's hope for an early spring!
