All deck hardware minus the windshield brackets is test fit, went to do an electrical test and have a dead battery (currently on the charger) pretty happy with the overall look, now to pull all of it off and do the final epoxy coat. 8)

Well we are back in business, after an epoxy oopsie, scraping, recoat and resand the second coat of poxy shield went on the deck today and WOW! Now we're talking, much flatter finish with good gloss, hopefully my new mixing method works out and it cures just as it looks wet. looks like maybe one mor...

This is probably a stupid question but, how long and thoroughly did you mix? Not a stupid question at all, i mix every batch for two minutes (set a timer) but thoroughly might be the culprit, i mixed a 12oz batch in a 16oz cup, not alot of extra room for a vigorous mixing, on todays recoat i mixed ...

Wow there are more of us than I thought, I also used microballoons and epoxy to fill the seams on my zip, I too wanted the flush deck look plus I plan on top coating with Automotive clear coat and my thought was this would produce a more permanent seam, however I have yet to launch my zip so I canno...

Well three steps forward and two steps back, seven days ago i coated the deck in epoxy, i mixed a 12oz batch, rolled and tipped the entire deck with the same batch, roller, bush etc. From the front dash back it cured rock hard, no issues, however the entire bow is sticky / gummy seven days later, i ...

First encapsulation coat of epoxy over everything was rolled on today, let this cure, sand then roll on another. At this angle the zip looks 20' long :lol: i can assure you it is built per the plans. Making good progress. 8)

Today the front seams were taped off, sanded and the final seam fill was done, all seams are now slightly proud of the deck, in a day or two i can sand the entire deck surface and start my top epoxy coats. Coming right along. 8)
