Re: Team

Same here - at £158 (around US$211) per sheet I wasn't very impressed to find voids, even if they were few and far between. Ironically, the £26 sheet of 3/4" WBP B/BB exterior ply I bought for my shed roof didn't appear to have any voids when I cut it. Makes you think, doesn't it? Even so, I'm...

Barrel Zip Indefinitely on the shelf!

http://www.glen-l.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=27137&hilit=barrel+zip I’ve decided to indefinitely shelve my Zip build and it’s all Josh Burk’s fault! (OK not really) I was originally planning to work my way through a number of builds – Zip, Overniter, Tahoe-Overniter, but the house &...

Nicely finished Tahoe for sale in the UK

Nice Tahoe for sale in the UK, bit of a Riva theme - Says it's manufactured by Williams Powerboats, but the only Williams I can find in the UK makes Jet tenders; maybe a one off.

https://www.boat24.com/uk/powerboats/wi ... il/316098/

Check out the price - £74,950 ($100,535)!

JIm,

Check out Josh's Youtube series - He has quite an in-depth explanation of the processes he tried on his deck before settling on the best method.

Just to throw in a curve-ball on cabin ideas, how about raising the deck: -

Re: Lengthen the overnighter

I was proposing to stretch an Overniter to 18', (See Super Overniter thread) - I checked with Gayle, and she said the recommendation not to stretch it was not a structural issue, but rather the complications of the raised sheer for a beginner; Ove Pederson stretched his 200mm (just under 8"). I...

Re: Tahoe 23

The old-school tool-bags that lay out flat when you put them on the floor are great - Tools spread out so you can see them, easy to toss tools onto them instead of putting them where they'll roll off/fall through/forget where you put them, and you can just grab the loop handles & everything is g...

Re: Inboard/Outboard range of motion.

I don't know anything about it, but I once saw an out-drive on a UK river cruiser, which rotated around the input driveshaft longitudinal axis, where it exits the transom; hinging upwards, sideways instead of rearwards as normally seen on other out-drives. I don't know if I've explained that effecti...

Re: Which plan to emulate a Chris Craft Capri?

Those plans are available for free on Svensons.com - they were originally posted in a magazine back in the day. Classicwoodenboatplans have "just" modeled them up in CAD, (this involves a fair amount of work) and are selling them on. I've read that the guy is a CAD jockey, not a marine arc...

Re: Tahoe 23 project, Norway

I'm sure I've seen other construction pictures of this dash, showing it being constructed out of "stepped" wood laminates, like Lego, before being sanded to shape. Van Dam really continue wooden boat building into the 21st century. I love the classic shapes but modern designs like this sho...

Love cruising stories - keep 'em coming Curt. I've mentioned them before, but members may find the "Narrowdog" series of books from fellow Welshman Terry Darlington entertaining; especially "Narrowdog to Indian River" where he chronincles cruising the Intracoastal Waterway in a 6...

If they were my frames, I'd be more than happy with that... but they're not my frames. Painted frames against bright hull looks good too.
