Re: New Member UK

They are definitely shallow draft, the Saetta is 28". We don't have many canals over this side of the country. My parents lived on the Broads for 30 years and as you say you would definitely be struggling with weed with that kind of draft. Well that and the 4 knot speed limit !!

Re: New Member UK

Roy, welcome to the forum! I, for one, would love to see any photos of your Olympic that you're willing to share. Mike, We moved back from Italy a couple of years ago. Most of the house contents are still in storage, next time I need something I'll dig out some pictures for you. We bought the Olymp...

Re: New Member UK

Digger, hi. I just happen to know someone who uses the same username on a Spurs fan forum. I'm pretty much settled on the Belle Isle. My intention is to start building next year as I've just got planning permission to demolish my existing garage and replace it with a much larger garage/workshop. Fer...

Re: Tahoe Stem

Thanks I didn't notice a spray rail in the pictures I saw. Was this something you added after your initial launches? In very early Riva's, where the forefoot was also convex, the chine was effectively exposed and the bottom and sides rebated into it. The effect was to create a spray rail of sorts. F...

Tahoe Stem

Looking at some of the construction pictures of the Tahoe it would appear that the forefoot is convex. Is this optical illusion as the Belle Isle and Monaco seem to be obviously convex.

If so how does it stay dry as I could imagine this being very wet getting on and off the plane.

Re: Finished weight of Tahoe 23 and Belle Isle

Depending on he licence that setup is 100% legal. I am allowed to tow a 7m trailer with an additional 3m overhang approx 33' altogether. Assuming the vehicle can handle it I can tow a combined vehicle and rig of 8250kg, the Tahoe including trailer is circa 2200kg so it's just a case of finding somet...

Finished weight of Tahoe 23 and Belle Isle

I have reposted this in the Hankinson section as, despite a lot of views, I had no replies in the general power section. I live in the UK and we have some interesting towing restrictions that apply both in terms of weight and length. Of these weight is the more critical issue, my current 4WD is able...

A Question of weight

I live in the UK and we have some interesting towing restrictions that apply both in terms of weight and length. Of these weight is the more critical issue, my current 4WD is able to tow 1800Kgs, a touch under 3970lbs. As the laws on towing have changed over the years newer licences are much more re...

Re: New Member UK

Roberta,

No problem. In the boatbuilding galleries there are a series of pictures of a Tahoe 24 by Charlie Kelly, Phoenix, Arizona. Is he on the forum as I'd love to ask him some questions.

New Member UK

Hi, I'm based just outside of Cambridge in the UK. I've been browsing the forum for about a week. I'm torn between building a Tahoe 23 as I prefer its hull shape or the Belle Isle because I love the barrel back. I currently own a Riva Olympic which 'sits on a shelf' at the boatyard in Salo on Lake G...
