Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

After careful scrutiny and looking at designs I think I’ve changed and settled on two to choose from.

So final thoughts from the forum.

Outrage or Stilletto.

I know they don’t have the classic wood boat look but I’ve always been a speed demon and live in that realm.

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

What about the Outrage? It has plenty of sex appeal for me, but appears to be a more modern looking boat versus the Classic wooden boats.

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

Yeah it’s hard to tell from pictures about the size comparison between the two. So I guess you are suggesting to go with the Malihini instead of the Zip. I am trying to look at photos of both individually but one of both of them in the water side by side would be great.

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

I’m 5’11” weigh 200 so it might be a little tight for me. I saw a couple at the Gathering but never tried to climb in one. The only Glen-l I’ve ridden in is Bill’s Tahoe to the lunch in 2015.

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

If I go with the Zip, is it limited to 40hp?

And is a standard propeller best?

Or a 40hp jet drive?

Re: Help with Boat Build choice?

Thanks for all the responses so far. I took a look at the Malihini and it’s larger than the Zip but I guess the photos I have seen so far maybe don’t do it justice but to me the Zip has cleaner lines. I am 62 and even though I would like to tube all day I don’t see that happening. I would probably o...

Re: 2015 Gathering G-9

I had a great visit with everyone on Friday. I really enjoyed talking with all and gathering data @ the Gathering. The ride to and from Chattanooga was the bomb. I think I have finalized what I intend to build and it will be a Gentry (extended). Everyone's builds are unique and spectacular. I plan o...

Re: Gathering 2015 (G9) Name Tags - ATTENDEES PLEASE READ

Hello All I am retired and fortunately for me I now live in Tennessee. I would like to attend the gathering this weekend. I have always wanted to build a wooden boat, having built and rigged many fiberglass boats during my life. I am not quite sure which model I would like but I am currently conside...
