Re: Tahoe 23 Georgia build

Every time I read the "Rear Admiral" reference in your posts, I crack up! If your not intending that in humor, well, I get a good laugh from it any way! lol! Great looking boat! Stunning! I hope I'm where you are right now someday with my Tahoe!! And I hope to see it in person some day as ...

Re: Project *OverKill* Tahoe 23

Thanks for the replies! I probably am over thinking this a bit! Simply sealing the wood so it looks nice then just covering it with paper or plastic when doing staining, glue ups, finishing would be just fine and no doubt less of a worry or a headache! Although, I hadn't heard of the wax option!! In...

Re: Project *OverKill* Tahoe 23

Ok, so boat build shop preparation continues!... I'm currently working on my workbench, building it out of oak... I have a question on sealers. I want to use this bench as a nice flat surface to hand plane at, do handsaw work, glue ups, finishing, etc... I'd like to seal it, and give it a finish, wi...

Re: Hello from Seattle area

Welcome!

Congrats on retirement! Enjoy the good life after a career in public service, you've earned! My retirement clock is at about 15 years still!

I admire the looks of the Fancy Free and would really enjoy owning one myself... However, I'm a horsepower junky!

Re: New member from oregon

As I looked at your pictures I got to thinking about your armrests... Are they accessible enough that when the seats are in you can cut in openings for a little "glove box" area in them? Figure that would be a good space for things like glasses cases, sun screen, phones, keys, koozies, etc...

Welcome! I really like the 3 designs of that style sailboat! Suitable build site is a struggle for most! I look forward to seeing pictures of your construction progress!

Re: Tahoe-verniter

I really like the Tahoe and I really like the features of the Riva it is famous for... Numerous people probably feel the same about the 2 designs... Wonder why Glen didn't design a version of the Tahoe to incorporate some of that character with a Glen L touch??? Bet it would be a popular plans set!!...

Re: Project *OverKill* Tahoe 23

Thank you Roberta! Based on what I've read about them, they are very heavy duty and function perfectly! Always helpful getting input from someone and their experience with a product before the money is spent!

Re: Project *OverKill* Tahoe 23

Hey everyone! Quick question... I need to acquire a face vice for my work bench and want something bolt on... been looking online at options and I prefer something bigger in the 9-10" range... What are some thoughts/preferences between the Wilton, Eclipse, and/or Yost brands? Should I stay away...

Re: Aussie Gentry

Thanks!
Well, I really like it! That Ash stem strip really sets off the front of the boat! I like this approach better than a cutwater, so I may be "borrowing" this little customization! :D

Re: Aussie Gentry

Greetings! I apologize if this is obvious, but the purpose of the Ash stem strip?... Is that cosmetic or is it intended to be a ware and tear piece that can be easily removed and replaced in the future? That's the first I've seen this, generally I see the cutwaters, so I'm curious! Thank you, Shane!
