I've been keeping pretty good comparison going of this kit build compared to my plans build. I was well over 300 hours at this point. Id say its closer to 40% time savings. Go for it TAB, its worth it! It really doesn't make sense to build a Zip from plans as long as this kit is available. In the en...

Doesnt look like any big deal. The outside edge of the keel is faired off too much/at the wrong angle to the top of the frame. Just need to add some material to the edge of the keel and fair it in. The bigger boats themselves are not as much more money and time to build as you think. A Zip with all the chrome bling can cost as much as a nice but less decorated larger boat. The Zip you can take where you would take a standard 14ft aluminum boat. If you wouldnt be comfortable in that, you wont be comfortable in a Zip out there. When the chop gets over a foot or has any whitecap you'll wish you were in something larger for sure. It would probably be fine in your bay when...
