Re: Bob's Geronimo - launch tomorrow

You definitely need a method that works for you. Also since many of us use trailers converted for our boats you might want to take tools to adjust your trailer if needed.

Re: vupilot's Zip for sale

Thanks all. We love the Zip but after 10 years we just want to try something different. Life's short and there are too many toys out there. Since we have the other little wood skiff and the 10hp limited lake so close we use it quite a bit and just aren't using the Zip since we have to travel farther...

vupilot's Zip for sale

Yes, we have decided to offer the Zip up for sale to a good home. No, we are not going anywhere and we still plan to be a part of the Glen-L boat-builder family and continue to be active on the forum and attend future Gatherings with the wonderful friends we have made here over the years. The Zip is...

Re: New member from oregon

I agree Jeff, I never worry about in on the water, or on a good dock but every good bump in the road makes me cringe.

Re: Two ZIPs for sale on eBay

There is a beautiful Glen-L Monaco on http://www.bringatrailer.com right now. Bidding started off at $5K then $7.5K then took off to $28K with 4 days left. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2016-glen-l-monaco/ This might be a great avenue for folks selling Glen-L boats to get them in front of the ty...

Re: Restoring Glory Days a 23' Belle Isle

This is neat to see. A well enjoyed boat that has held up well. 9 years, kinda helps kill the myth that wood boats are all high maintenance.

Re: Bow notching on malahini

The transition of your side planking looks ok to me. I never did exactly get a perfect "joint" it just kinda transitioned like yours does then I just made the bottom planking fit in the space not taken up buy the side planking. As for the bunching up, I like to clamp starting in the center...

Re: Zip Long Shaft Transom Motor Well required?

For a long shaft motor on a Zip the motor will be above the motor well. Even when the motor is tilted up not much of anything will be "in" the well. The steering cable and rod would be above the deck so not a factor and no need to widen the well. You should not see water over the transom b...

Re: modified malahini

I use 3M scotch edge lock blue tape. Love that stuff. Big box store or paint store usually stock it. Make sure it says edge lock on the tape itself its totally different from similar looking blue tape. https://www.supplyhog.com/c/paint-painting-supplies/tapes-dispensers/masking-tape-paper/p/3m-scotc...
