Re: Utility build

Mike! I know its not funny to you since you had to fix it but your line along with that picture of the two holes just had me cracking up. "Sometimes it astounds me just how badly something can go." The fix sure is time consuming which is always the frustrating part of it for me. Thanks for...

Dang, that stinks. It seems the logistics of everything will be harder than the actual repairs though. Glad it wasnt worse.

Re: Howdy from Texas

The hard part is just deciding what to build, 300 choices here and a bunch from bataeu as well. Honestly, the support here on this forum is what put me over the edge and convinced me I could do this. I was pretty sure I could but having the experienced folks here to fall back on was very comforting ...

Re: Squirt in Manitoba

I suppose the DF is all you can get where you are? I wound up using mexican purpleheart because my local supplier had it in stock in 16' lengths. It worked really well. I used two laminations and didnt have any break. Its a bit harder and takes longer to fair and sand but otherwise I loved it, a sup...

Dang Bill!!!! Heather looked like that when we discovered she all the sudden has a shellfish allergy a couple years ago. I really miss shrimp dinners.

Hope you feel better soon. Maybe use gorilla glue next time ! Anybody allergic to gorillas?

Re: Squirt in Manitoba

Regarding the chine. Did you first attach them at the stem then bend working aft? Or did you work from the transom and work toward the bow, attaching at the stem last? They usually will get a better bend up forward buy attaching at the stem first and bending working aft. It requires a bit more room ...

Re: Agenda

If you were only going to go for one day I would suggest Saturday.

Think of the whole event as a laid back picnic on the dock with boats to ride in and talk about. Bring some folding chairs for the dock, some food to share and come relax.

Re: Resize Plans- Squirt

The squirt is so small I cant imagine reducing its size unless you wanted to make a radio controlled model. It may end up so small an adult couldnt operate it but at the designed size an an adult or a child can operate it. Many Glen-L designs may be stretched 10% and many have done so on the Squirt.
