Help with Prop Selection

I am completing my build and need to add a prop to my motor. I have built the Overniter and have installed a 2016 Mercury 4 stroke 90HP Gearcase ratio 2.07:1. I have tried the online calculators and have been getting recommendations all over the place. Can someone offer a recommendation on what I sh...

Overniter Question on Battery Placement

I am finally at the point of wiring my boat for launch later in the summer. I am really wrestling with my battery placement. I have determined that I need a two battery system. My boat is the 16ft overniter and I have a 2015 Mercury 90HP 4 stroke and a 16 gallon fuel tank in the back as well. My que...

Thanks, Northwest Lumber is just a short drive from my house. I will just have them do it.

Mahogony Plywood for Deck?

I am finally at the point of planking my top deck on the Overniter build. I have a few questions for the experts on here. I have plenty of access to 4/4 mahogony and maple at a local lumber store, but I am not confident that I have the tools to rip the wood to the 1/4 inch width for my planks. The s...

Roll and Tip Question

All,
After considering spraying I am going with the roll and tip method to paint my boat. I am using Interlux VC Performance Epoxy on the bottom with four coats. My question is do I need to roll and tip all four coats or just the final one? Thanks for the help.

Fiberglass surface preperation

Any suggestions on what to use to clean all the sawdust and puddy dust off the plywood before fiberglassing? I thought I had read on here that denatured alcohol was the way to go, but wanted to check before I went that route. Thanks.

Sanding Epoxy drips

I was very liberal with my epoxy application and have quite a few drips down the side of my boat. Anybody have a preferred tool or method to sand these drips flat. I have been using an orbital and am afraid that I might be creating low spots. FYI, the expoxy is glen-l poxy-grip. Thanks.

Tricks to round corners

All,
I am in final preparation to fiberglass in the next two weeks. I know that I have to round my edges around the transom and chines. Any tricks to do this quickly, or do I just grab the sandpaper and manually round them off? Thanks for the help.

Re: Good Spray on Paint

Any specific interlux paint? I googled and came up with quite a few product variations. I doubt I need antifouling for a trailored boat? Could I use brightside on the bottom of my boat?

Good Spray on Paint

All,
I am going to be ready for painting in the next month or so. I am building a runabout that will be trailored the majority of the time and never be in the water more than one day. I have spray equipment and would like to take advantage of that method. Any recommendations on a paint type?

Overniter Stem Piece

I am building the overniter and have a question as to what a piece on the Overniter in customer photos is called. The piece in question is the metal piece where the stem meets the deck. Is this called a cutwater or something else? Thanks for the help.
