Re: Frame construction

Thanks for the reply. I understand the drawings being half frame. I have a build station where I would build each frame. My intention is to use tracing paper and glue that to the wood for cutting., I just wasn't sure what is meant by not making 2 separate halves. I mean each frame kind of is 2 halv...

Re: Gathering update

Hello Everybody, I just wanted to post a quick note saying that Marta and I had a great time at the Gathering. If we could have scheduled our vacation one more day later or longer it would have been even better. We had to leave Saturday afternoon because both Marta and Myself had to work on Sunday, ...

Re: Florida Malahini Build

Hey David, I used to live in Vero Beach, then moved away to Maryland, then moved back to Melbourne Florida. I go down to Sebastian a lot and I am probably going to Join the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) chapter in Vero Beach, so I will be going down there pretty often. I would like to see ...

Marta and Myself are going, but we probably won't be able to bring our boat. So we will need a ride.

Re: Catalina Dual Console or Calypso Dual Console

Sorry the next post took so long. I got a temporary job gig last week, and it took all my time up. Anyway here is a list of what I want to accomplish with my build, and I hope to post sketches of the current design either in this post or next post, but still have it posted tonight. Goals of Project....

Re: Other Things We Bring to the Gathering

Is anyone bringing skis? Ever since launch day I have wanted to ski behind the squirt If we make it, I will bring a pair of combo skis, and a large slalom ski, ski rope, and life vests.... I am trying like hell to try to make it, but depending on things we may or may not make it. There is a chance ...

Catalina Dual Console or Calypso Dual Console

Hey All, I want to start a thread detailing my build. Off and on for the past 14 years I have been looking at building a Catalina Express, Phantom, or Calypso. I bought the paper study plans for the Phantom, and Catalina Express around 2004, and in 2015 I bought the same plans in PDF form. I have be...

Re: G-12 "Friday Lunch Run To Chattanooga"

I am bummed out that I have to say this, because I was really looking forward to the lunch trip. But I don't think we will be able to make it to the lunch run on Friday, so you can cross off Ryan and Marta Lash with our Bayliner. We are still trying to make it for part of the weekend, but we will dr...

Re: Who's Going and Where

Hey All, I am going to have to change our reservations to "maybe". I was laid off in the spring, I have been working temporary jobs, and side jobs, and I was hoping I would have something permanent lined up by now. We still might be able to make it, but money might be too tight and we might not be a...

Re: Matt's Geronimo

In terms of storing your anchor, you might look for a plastic milk crate box. I store mine in a milk crate, and it keeps everything together and I can tie the crate to the boat wherever I want it to stay. I can also move it around to help with weight and balance. Most of the time I have it in the bo...

Re: Converting a non-marine 305 and is it worth it

The motor really only has about 30 minutes on it. It is a 1996-1997 vortec 305 with the roller cam. I would also need to replace the head gaskets correct? The head gasket replacement depends on if you use raw water cooling which is sea water, or if you use fresh water cooling (which is sometimes ca...
