Re: Matt's Geronimo

In terms of storing your anchor, you might look for a plastic milk crate box. I store mine in a milk crate, and it keeps everything together and I can tie the crate to the boat wherever I want it to stay. I can also move it around to help with weight and balance. Most of the time I have it in the bo...

Re: Converting a non-marine 305 and is it worth it

The motor really only has about 30 minutes on it. It is a 1996-1997 vortec 305 with the roller cam. I would also need to replace the head gaskets correct? The head gasket replacement depends on if you use raw water cooling which is sea water, or if you use fresh water cooling (which is sometimes ca...

Re: Matt's Geronimo

I don't know if there is a free ramp at Lake Schafer or Freeman, but it may be worth it to pay for the first splash since it is so close to you. If I remember right Racoon Lake was about 55 miles from Lafayette and It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get there. And the lake at Peru was pretty far a...

Re: Matt's Geronimo

Hey Matt, Being a former West Lafayette resident, I am wondering where you are going to splash your boat when you get it done? In the Wabash, Tippecanoe, or Lake Schafer, or Freeman, or the peat bog in Otterbein. I need to make it up to Indiana sometime in the Fall, to visit family in Lafayette, Ind...

Re: Who's Going and Where

A tour of powerhouse sounds neat. Even if it isn't haunted. I took some electrical powerplant design courses in college, but have only toured and worked in coal and nuclear power plants, no modern hydroelectric, or antique hydroelectric yet.

Re: Who's Going and Where

Hey all you fellow boaters/boat buildersl, Marta, and Myself are planning to go to the gathering. I am not sure if we will try to stay in one of the one bedroom floating apartments, camp out in our boat, truck, or find a tent campground nearby. We are planning to be there Thursday night, and we hope...

Re: Another Geronimo Coming Soon

Hey Hoodman, I am a Boilermaker and lived in West Lafayette and Lafayette, from 1998 till about 2002 and then I was back in West Lafayette for the Fall Semester in 2008. I still talk to lab techs and profs occasionally with airplane, bicycling and waterskiing projects. I tend to visit Indiana once e...

Re: need advice please.....Phantom Build

Hello Musicman, I am looking at the Phantom, Catalina Express, and Calypso plans. (They have the same hulls, just different superstructures). I am working on combining ideas from all three designs to make it more like a modern dual console boat like a Sailfish 270 DC or a Boston Whaler advantage 270...
