Re: Torpedo X 0.16

Roberta :D you could always draw them up in cad and have them 3d printed/ cnc. hey its an excuse to buy more tools  I recently picked u...

Re: CVT scooter motor as inboard?

What rpms do they run at? I would be worried you could not spin a prop at the correct rpm

Re: Coronavirus

I had the next 3 months of contracts cancelled. Already cleaned and organized the house. I have 4 bags full of clothes for good will, 6 boxes of various house hold items and a bed room set waiting to go. Thinking about putting the bedroom set on cl/ op, but i dont like the idea of people coming to m...

Re: Building the Zip with the NEW Zip Complete Wood Parts Kit

If i build a zip i would like to put a 60 on it. I know i am over powering the boat by a lot. So i will have to do some reinforcement, but the diffrence between a 40 hp merc and a 60 hp merc is only 14 lbs. I have always owned hot rodded boats. Does not mater if it was a laser or a purpose built mod...

Re: Tunnel Mite Prop selection

See if one of the local prop shops has a loaner program. I have found these to be very helpfull trying to find the right prop. A smaller diameter higher pitch should get you more top end, but less of a hole shot. Another option is going to a 2 blade.

Re: Building the Zip with the NEW Zip Complete Wood Parts Kit

Planing on 12 gal permanent below deck tank by Moeller. Looks like several Zip builders went this way Peter That seems like a lot of weight to added to the boat. Full thats about 80# a 40 hp merc burns about 4 gallons per hour at wot. Granted you dont have to fill it. I would be very intrested in w...

Re: boat weight

most bigger truck stops also offer scales for a small fee. they give total weights and per axle load. which is very useful with a duel axle trailers as you want the weight to be as even as possible

Re: Trailer info for Little Hunk

duel axle trailers do track a little straight, but they are also hard to back up into tight places. they also allow you to strap up an axle when you have a flat to get off the road. bouncing is a matter of having the load balanced correctly and correct spring wieghts. If it was me i would look for t...

Re: Building the Zip with the NEW Zip Complete Wood Parts Kit

i am wondering, what are you going to do for fuel tanks? are you just going to do the generic 3-6 gallon red tank that people often used for small outboards? even building a wood box( with a small vent fan) would look a lot better then they do. then again i could totally see a polished mooney style ...
