Re: Hello everyone from beautiful Michigan
You'll enjoy this blog Jimmy but I don't understand the word "beautiful" for this time of the year. Here in Coldwater its just plain gray most of the time except when its white when it is snowing.

Re: Screw thread pitch on wood screws
Sorry, can't answer your question but will give you something to think about. Many containers, like bottles, have a different thread pitch than the closure that is applied. It's what makes the closure tight. Unless the thread difference is visible, in which case you would strip out the wood threads,...

I am sure your right about that but the commercial applications are endless, reminds me of Murphy's second Law of Flying: "No two aircraft can occupy the same airspace at the same time."

The FAA site is for anyone. I believe I read recently that AMA members don't have to register because they are already registered with AMA. The AMA rule, with a few exceptions, is that your AMA number has to be on whatever you fly. My experience has been that only a few members follow this rule.

Re: Fuel Tank Ground
Bob is right in his statement about overkill. The fear in this case is that static charges will accumulate to the point that some other object attracts the charge, if this happens it will travel to that object as a spark, called Electrostatic Discharge or ESD for short, you know what happens then. T...

Re: 120 Volt Connections
In addition to the above info most builders will buy crimp connectors from the big box stores, these low cost connectors cover a range of wire sizes indicated by a certain color insulator. To use the smallest wire size indicated is asking for trouble. Better to buy crimp connectors from an electrica...

Re: Glen-L 25 centre board
Since you mentioned the Egyptians it reminded me of my personal experiences. In the past I occasionally have faced the same type of dilemma, an almost impossible task that has to be accomplished. It is then that I think about the Egyptians who built the pyramids thousands of years ago with just a fe...

Re: Glen-L Poxy-Grip question
Most adhesives, including epoxy, will instruct you to coat surfaces prior to bonding them together. All wood is porous to some degree and if you tightly clamp a joint together the epoxy in the pores of the wood is sufficient to make a strong joint and there is always a thin film of epoxy at the join...

Re: Rustoleum Boat Paint
Over the years Rustoleum has been a pretty dependable company and their paints have lived up to their claims. I recently used some water based primer of theirs, the claim that it will work anywhere. It went on fast and dried quick. Think you are right in trying it first. Do they sell quarts?
