Genuine Mahogany goes for $14 to $15 a BDFT in my parts, so this would be a good deal if it is good stuff. Can you buy/borrow a moisture meter to check it out? Can air dried wood be "too dry"? This is what I will most likely do. He would be selling me the wood between 4/4 and 8/4 rough st...

Honduran Mahagony

I have a potential wood source, but he can't tell me the level of moisture of the mahagony. He can only tell me that it has been air dried for 15 years. I'm worried it will be too dry. Can anyone give me some advice regarding this? He also wants $10 pbf.
