Re: New Boat---Squirt!!!

Yep, it's gonna be fairly fast...........IF it don't sink first...I'm guessin' at the balance point...Front of engine will be at the forward frame(about 5' from transom)...I'll be able to move it back or forward a few inches to get the balance...Plus placement of batt. and fuel tank...Outcome will I...

Saw 2 kerfs (bandsaw)in the 1X2...Use full 1" wood...With 2 kerfs(glue in between kerfs)it will bend around the turn...start at the bow glue the kerfs and bend it around to frame 4A, that will give you a chance to clamp it, then finish screwing and gluing it to the rest of the frames towards th...

Re: Stretching the Ski King

I stretched my Ski King 3" between frames 2-3, and 3-4...And it worked out fine, but if I had it to do over again I would would do 0-4a(all frames) 3"... I have plans in my head to stretch one 9" per station(all frames including the stem) have drawn them up , but want to build a model...

Re: Ski King vs Zip

OK, I'm back....The V6's are plenty of power for the SKI KING...We had a Ski King powered by a 70 hp Jeep flathead, and it would go 33 mph....The early Buick V6 (225 cu. in.)was 150hp didn't weigh that much more, and is more compact than the 4.3... We ran them in Jeeps and with a 4 bbl. manifold and...

Re: Ski King vs Zip

Hi, it's ME, the SKIIIIIIIIIII KIIIIIINNGGG, and my choice was the Ski King, because I had one when I was 15....We had skiied with 35 Johnsons and 40 hp Merc's, and they weren't cuttin' it...We went to a Ski king with 70hp (YEP!!70!) Jeep and we could pull 4 skiers easy, not fast (35mph), but one ti...

Re: CRACKER BOX

Most paints or varnishes won't stick to silicone caulking...I found that out when I did the stripes on my boat...fortunately, I started on the rear deck and didn't get to far b-4 I discovered it....So, I used plain old cheapy butyl caulk instead and knew I would have to deal with the stripes, later....

Re: Planning for next year already

I'm hoping to make rail/car connections, but it's early to work out details...Will rail to Atlanta, then have to rent car from Atlanta to Chatt.(113 miles) So far that's the best I can do...Will hope to slide in with someone with a cabin when I get there...I want to bring boat, but 5000 miles at 10 ...

Re: Audeen Gas Tank

BUUUUUTTTTT, the sbc won't use fuel like an outboard, my Ski King has a 19 gal tank just ahead of the rudder post, it seems to be big enough....Have an alum or stainless tank built to fit the space...I can remove the rear seat and get to the tank....Mine happened an extra gas tank for the rear seat ...
