Another great day on Lake Tahoe with the Monte-Carlo

Took Mercoledì out for another trip on Tahoe today to try out another prop. This is just an incredible design that is smooth and solid even with some boat chop on this large lake. My wife finally decided it was time that she take the helm to give me a ride in the third cockpit. What a blast!! http:/...

Monte Carlo on the water

So I finally figured out YouTube and have a short video of the Monte Carlo on the water. I have an "official" launch party for family and friends scheduled for the 14 th of July at Garwoods at Lake Tahoe. I cannot tell you all how smooth this boat runs on the lake. I am very impressed with the perfo...

Pictures of the Monte Carlo

I had promised pictures of the Monte Carlo "MERCOLEDI" over the weekend, and now have a few that I was able to transfer to this computer. I have a short checklist in order to get this in the water for the official launching on June 9th. 1. fix a small fuel leak in the vent line that was discovered t...

Thanks Dave. I will keep that in mind when I start out with the sizing.

Re: Just about there with the Monte Carlo

I am using the PCM 1.23:1 down angle transmission. The manual indicates that the max RPM is 5300 with 5200 being preferred. I used a 16 degree 7 1/2" drop strut which should give me plenty of room for a 14" prop if needed. I appreciate the help, and as soon as the weather clears up this weekend I wi...

Just about there with the Monte Carlo

I am just about ready to launch my Monte Carlo (pictures to follow after it is washed and waxed this weekend) but I am in need of a prop size. I am running a PCM ZR6 at 375 HP. Does anyone have an idea where I can start with a prop size? I have a friend who owns a boat shop and will let me try sever...

Remote control bow spotlight

I have come across a Sparton manual remote control bow searchlight possibly from the 60's. The seller wants $100 and I really do not have a need for it, but you all know.... Does anyone happen to know a fair value? I would add a picture, but my I-pad will not allow me. Any help on a value will be ap...

Re: monte carlo

I went with a 14 degree shaft angle after reviewing the plans and instructions. As I recall in one place it calls for 14 and in another it lists 16. I cannot recall exactly why I chose 14 other than i was unsure whether i would be able to get the motor to fit if it was at 16 degrees. I am using a 6....

Re: Monte Carlo Wednesday Build

It is interesting to see how many father/son/daughter builders there are. When I say that we are building this boat together, it is really me doing the work, and my father being the supervisor. He built a Missile when he was in high school. His always talking about that boat is what started this end...

Monte Carlo Wednesday Build

I have been building the Monte Carlo since January 2007 almost every Wednesday evening with my father. I thought that it was about time I finally joined the forum which has been extremely helpful during the build. As soon as I figure things out I will post some pictures. I am building in Reno, Nevad...
