Boat Building sometimes becomes a disease that costs you money! It's not about saving money!

Re: Scrambler update

Charles, I stumbled upon your thread about a week ago and really wishing that I hadn't  This kind of build is what I have been dreaming about for years! Last winter I built two small wood pirogue type boats and have had enough of playing with epoxy! I am really looking forward to hearing how yo...

Re: Canyon Cruiser Project - Aug 2010 - Aug 2013

Sscefer, Looking really good, so far I think that my biggest concern is the welding! I have lots of experience with steel but the aluminum is more difficult, I'll just have to do some more practicing! I picked up a Miller 212 with spool gun which should get the job done on all the structural welds a...

Re: Canyon Cruiser Project - Aug 2010 - Aug 2013

Yeah, as far as the outboard jet thing goes I should be fine for many years to come here in Idaho! Idaho is nothing like California with all the restrictions and all, not only that where I would be running the boat is on rivers that you can't run a proped motor. I would most likely pick up a Four St...

Re: Canyon Cruiser Project - Aug 2010 - Aug 2013

Good stuff here, I'll be following this for sure! Kinda got a plan in my head to do a build similar to yours but not as big, probably gonna be an open boat in aluminum with an outboard jet! Keep up the good info and thank you for the extra effort!

Rogue Runner design modification?

I am really liking the Rogue Runner design, but I've got a question. Planning on building with aluminum, would like to put a little more vee in the bottom, I'm thinking around 6-8 degree, is this doable?? :D
