Re: Outboard Motor Choices
i've had my 3 cylinder - 90 hp Evinrude etec for 3 years now with no problems whatsoever. I am getting ready to take it in this spring for its first scheduled maintenence. It is quite and not nearly as BIG (meaning..physically big) as its 4-stroke competitors. Not to mention the maintenance schedule...

Re: Another Geronimo Coming Soon
Had an uncle tell me over Christmas that once the baby comes "you'll never get that boat done." I guess I get to prove him wrong. Just waiting on the next warm spell to get some gluing done. Looks like Sunday into Monday or so we'll have some highs in the 50s. Gonna get cold coming up tomorrow thou...

Re: What to look for in a motor?
i've been burnt on more then one used outboard over the years. The only circumstances i would buy used again is it would have to fit certain conditions: 1. i wouldn't buy unless i was buying from an authorized dealer for that make of outboard who was willing to provide some sort of warranty (not muc...

Vera Cruise Build.........Slowly but Surely
I'm officially going to get started on my next boat this month. I am going to build a Vera Cruise with a slightly modified cabin (my cabin will be a little smaller with a more open cockpit). This is going to be a VERY SLOW BUILD. I am going to put a time frame of 6 - 10 years on this one. (i really ...

Re: I got to tour the BRP (Evinrude) manufacturing plant in
A bummer you couldn't take pictures inside the plant. Are all sizes of Evinrude outboards built at that plant? Do the motors get a test run before they leave the factory? they make the 15hp - 300hp at that plant. The smaller outboards are actually repatriated from another brand (i think Tohatsu). T...

I got to tour the BRP (Evinrude) manufacturing plant in WI

Unfortunatly i wasnt allowed to take pictures inside the plant but i was definitly able to see how Evinrudes are built fro...

Re: SCARFING PLYWOOD
i bought one of these and it worked great. make sure you invest in a good quality blade for your circular saw. After you cut with this you will need to finish with a belt - sander. Worked great...even for an amateur like me!
