Hi All I have done the Tunnel Mite. You can see it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag_W8pMR1Hg ; there That's Fun; but only for one. So next is a Squirt with jet power. I know nothing about jet ski's or "sea-doos" except to refer to them as the mosquitoes of the river; Paparazzi! Yup, I am old now. ...

Re: Tunnel Mite Video refined

As a final thought on this, I would like draw your attention to this "go pro" camera video..

Not much to do with wooden boat building but I think you will find it easy on the eyes.

Re: Tunnel Mite Video refined

Hi Guys; The camera is a "Go-Pro" high definition video and still camera. The go pro "surf" is the best for wet times. http://www.goprocamera.com/products/hd-surf-hero-camera.php It has all kinds of mounts. We used a suction cup for the Tunnel Mite. It's a light unit; so we also put it under a box k...

Tunnel Mite Video

Hey All;

Here is my finished Tunnel Mite, from a Glastron POV.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsRdSLXifc8

The "20" on the engine is a deception from the guy I bought it from. (Somthing about Algonquin Park regs..)

Hi All

What are some ideas to eliminate sags in varnish? I am going crazy up here. Someday I have to do a final coat!!!

Re: Racing Prop source?

Just turning back to this.

Ron Hill has nice props but unfortunately nothing for my particular motor....I did not even ask about a custom job. Rather invest in a racing engine first.

Re: Epoxy questions.

I would do this Scrub with water and a scowering pad to remove the blush, then sand it to give it a rough "bite" for the next coat. If you just go at it with a sanding without the wash, the waxy blush will be ground into the epoxy. I have read that anyway... but I have also forgot to wash many times...

HA..."when you tell them you are building a boat they call you crazy."

Yup.

I built a whole lot of things...even built a house! But somehow building that little boat is seen as crossing a line.

You'l find insanity very liberating. Grow a big beard; ..milk it!

Re: Lord Nelson Qs

Yikes

Go for it... but know that for the time to build it, you can work at McDonalds for the same hours and buy a early 70's C&C with more space.

And also know that wood sail boats certanly dont sell for as much as wood power boats do.

Re: Barrelback windshield brackets

Can you post a picture of what you want. I am working with a local foundry on some brackets.

I have no idea why these are so expensive. There is certanly not much more bronze in these than a large cleat.

Re: DF> will checking show though PAINT /??????????????

Yes it will show. DF is notorious for checking unless you glass. Then it will be fine. Use epoxy, not polyester resin with the glass. If your using West epoxy - use 207 hardener to see the wood. If your painting, use 205.

Re: Painting over epoxy/epoxy over paint

One rule is; You can apply 1 part over 2 part, but you cant apply 2 part over 1 part. Or... you can paint over epoxy with just about anything; but dont put your 207 on single part paint. It will not hold for long. For depth your loking for; I would paint with a 2-part poly, and then build cover with...
