Re: Camper Recommendations for Mid-Size Trucks

I have a Dakota Bighorn myself. 1st bought the Bayou plans and stewed over them for about 3-4 months. That didn't include the 1 1/2 years of trying to decide on which ones to get. I posted the same question on here around May. The response that I got was get the Importer so I did buy another set for...

I think if it were me I would get the importer plans and modify them but it would also depend on what your needs are
Yeah, I did go with the Importer LB. Just too many questions w/the 1/2 T model & concerns about the weight.

Re: New member intro, building either a Bayou or Importer

Reason for a slide-in is so I can pull a boat. Biggest concern is the engine power or the lack thereof

New member intro, building either a Bayou or Importer

Hi, I'm a new member here. I am trying to determine if I should be building either a Bayou or Importer/Importer LB. Have a 2010 Dodge Dakota Long Horn with a 6 1/2 ft bed. I bought the Bayou plans but am second guessing my decision. I've restored 3 boats so this kind of work is not new to me. Any th...

Monte48, Thanks! I have been studying my Bayou plans for 2 months trying to understand that. Appreciated! Guy H firstone, I may be able to help as i am building the Acapulco, the box sides should stick Approx. 1" past floor. Then when you install the front wall it will sit between the left and right...

Re: Weight Reducing Framing

Got my Bayou plans for my '10 Dodge Dakota. I am very much interested & concerned about weight. One thing that I've seen on Pintrest (I think) on van living is building laminated/ sandwich boards & cabinets. Does anyone have experience doing this?
