Re: Norwegian Barrelback 20'

Hi Thomas, Aussie. Your build looks exceptional Thomas and Aussie your Belle, both very inspirational, congratulations. My phone is a tad vague on colour, I really love the styles of your hulls, is it a darker varnish on mahogany or is it a paint finish brown/navy blue? I'd really love to style my M...

Re: Flats Flyer

Welcome Brian!

I just bought plans as well, it's going to be a great experience building something uniquely and totally your own. Lots of fun to be had!

Re: Thinking Malahini although so many good boats!

Thank you so much guys for your advice. I am going to purchase the Malahini plans. Have a few bits and pieces to tie up behind the scenes (clean out my father's garage being the most intimidating of all) so just in time for the plans to arrive. Have a buddy who works in production and I will ask him...

Damn Tom, I'm about to begin a malahini in Sydney and you are an inspiration for ambitious design, patience of process and execution that sees it through. Really nice work!

Re: Thinking Malahini although so many good boats!

Wow, I guess there's no suspension on a flat bottom. With that being said what are your thoughts on a hellcat? Thinking I may be able to fit her in the workspace if I build a frame on wheels that enables me to pull it out and work in the open. The doorway I have is right on 8'. Will be risky haha. S...

Re: Thinking Malahini although so many good boats!

In chop, the Malahini can be a bit rough when on plane. Our lake, the lake of the ozarks, can be very busy and a lot of chop/waves are created. I cannot go though this on plane, as it really pounds and bounces us. I have to throttle down to about 10mph and go through the waves. However, when traffi...

Thinking Malahini although so many good boats!

When there's so many brilliant boats, choosing is the hardest part of the build haha! Hey guys, I'm from Aus and am looking for a good river/lake/bay boat. I'd love to have capacity for 4 people, am limited to 18'x8' max build (no possibility of widening the door unfortunately - no cats which is a s...

Looking very nice Carl! Great idea to shorten the cabin for more cockpit. It looks just snug.
Cheers

Re: Hello from Sydney Aus!

I would think that would be a "protected water" boat. Choose calm days and you'll be fine. I'm sure it would get you home in the chop but maybe not real comfortably. Hi Matt, I have seen your Geronimo build thread (very nice indeed). Is the Geronimo/Sea Knight hull all that different from the overn...

Hello from Sydney Aus!

Good evening from down under! My name is Kyle. Just finished business school whilst working in Real estate full time and I find myself longing with desire to create something real, physical, that I can look at and be immensely proud of. From what I have read over the last month from many of your bui...
